Holuway Stays for hosts
Your rooms, booked on your terms.
List a hotel, an inn, a B&B or a home. Guests ask to book with their card already held, and you decide.
No monthly fee. Holuway is paid only when you are.

Know the guest can pay before you say yes
The card is held before you hear about it
Once your payouts are set up, a request reaches you only when the guest's card is authorized on your own Stripe account. You confirm and it is charged; nobody pays for a stay you never accepted.
Your prices, your rules
A rate for each room type and for any night, cleaning, resort and extra guest fees, taxes, weekly and monthly discounts, a non-refundable rate, check-in times, house rules and the cancellation policy.
One calendar for every room
See what is free and booked each night, close nights, change a night's price, and import the calendar of another site you list on so a night is not sold twice.
No monthly fee
Listing, the calendar, messages, reviews and turnover tasks are included. Holuway takes a share of what you are paid by card, and nothing else.
Holuway Stays is built around the host saying yes, with the money already promised.
One booking, step by step
From a guest's request to a booked stay
One sample booking at a sample inn, as the guest and the host see it.
On your stay's page the guest chooses a room type, dates and guests, and sees the total with your fees before asking.
- Before
- Your stay is published on Holuway Stays with its rooms and nightly rates.
- What happens
- The guest chooses a room, the dates and how many guests.
- After
- They see the nightly rate times the nights, and the total.
The guest sends a request with a note. Once your payouts are set up, their card is held for the total on your own Stripe account before the request reaches you.
- Before
- The guest has chosen a room and dates.
- What happens
- They tap Request to book; the card is held, not charged.
- After
- The request is in your Bookings with the dates, the total, the held card and the time left to answer.
Read the note, message the guest, then confirm or decline. Confirm and the card is charged; decline and it is released at once.
- Before
- The request waits in Bookings for your answer.
- What happens
- You confirm, or decline.
- After
- Confirmed, the card is charged and the stay is booked. Declined, or not answered in time, the hold is released and the guest pays nothing.
Confirmed stays fill the calendar, one row per room, so the same night is never sold twice.
- Before
- The stay is confirmed.
- What happens
- Its nights are taken on the room's row of your calendar.
- After
- You see what is free and booked each night, and can close nights or change a night's price.

Real Holuway screens captured with sample data: Harbor Light Inn, its rooms and the guest Maya Chen are samples.
Your listing
Your stay, the way guests see it.
Photos first, then what matters to a guest: who it sleeps, the beds, check-in, the cancellation promise in plain words, every room type with its price, and where it is.
- A page of its own at a clean address, with the room types and prices you set
- Free cancellation shown only when your policy gives it
- Shown in search by place, kind and dates, with a map

How listing works
- 01
Create your host account
Sign up as a host. Your workspace is made for you; invite your team when you want.
- 02
Add your stay
Its kind, address, description, amenities, check-in and check-out times, house rules and cancellation policy.
- 03
Rooms, prices and photos
Each room type with its beds, guests, number of rooms and nightly rate, then fees, discounts and photos.
- 04
Publish
A checklist says what is missing. Set up payouts with Stripe to take cards; until then guests ask and you arrange payment directly.
- 05
Answer requests
Read the guest's note, message them, and confirm or decline within the time the request is held.
From an account to your first request, in the managing area you already use for rentals, or a new one.
Everything else a stay needs
Instant book, when you want it
Let guests book at once when their card is held, or keep every booking a request.
Fees and taxes
Cleaning, resort and extra guest fees and a tax rate, shown to guests line by line before they ask.
Discounts
Weekly and monthly discounts, and a cheaper non-refundable rate guests can choose.
Turnover tasks
A cleaning task for every checkout, assigned to your team or an outside cleaner, ready before the next check-in.
Reviews from real stays
Only a guest whose stay happened can review it, once. You can reply once, in public.
Your team
Invite people with the access they need, in the same workspace as any homes you rent out.
In the same place as your bookings, with nothing extra to buy.
Stays
What it costs
One commission on what guests pay you by card. Nothing to pay before you are booked.
12%of each booking paid by card
- Monthly fee: $0. Listing, the calendar, messages and every tool on this page are included.
- Guests pay the price you set. Holuway adds no service fee of its own to what they pay.
- Holuway takes its part only when a card payment is charged, from that payment, and gives its share back in proportion when you refund.
- Card processing is charged by Stripe to your own Stripe account at its standard rate (2.9% + $0.30 for a US card), as with any card payment you take.
- Until your payouts are set up, guests can still ask to book and you arrange payment with them yourself. Those bookings carry no Holuway fee.

Cancellation policies you choose from
Each booking keeps the policy it was made under. If you cancel, the guest is refunded in full.
- Flexible
- Full refund up to 24 hours before the start.
- Moderate
- Full refund up to 5 days before the start.
- Strict
- Half refunded up to 7 days before the start.
How a request runs
- 1The guest has 30 minutes to finish the card step; until then nothing reaches you and the time is held for them.
- 2You have 48 hours to answer. Confirm and the card is charged; decline or let it lapse and the hold is released.
Questions hosts ask
What kinds of places can I list?
Hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts, boutique hotels, motels, hostels, resorts, extended stays and vacation homes, each with one or more room types sold by the night.
Does it cost anything to list?
There is no monthly fee and nothing to pay to list. Holuway takes its commission from each booking paid by card when the card is charged. The current figure is under What it costs on this page.
When is the guest charged?
Their card is held when they ask to book, on your own Stripe account, and charged when you confirm. If you decline, or do not answer in time, the hold is released and they pay nothing.
Do I have to accept every request?
No. Every booking is a request you confirm or decline, unless you turn on instant book for a stay that takes cards.
How do I get paid?
Payments are taken on your organization's Stripe account, which you connect from Payouts in the managing area. Stripe pays out to your bank on your account's schedule.
I already list on another site. Can I keep it?
Yes. For a home or a single room, import that site's calendar so nights booked there are closed here, and give it Holuway's calendar in return. Calendars refresh about every hour, not instantly.
What happens if a guest cancels?
They are refunded by the policy the booking was made under: flexible, moderate or strict, the one you chose. If you cancel, the guest is refunded in full.
Can my team help run it?
Yes. Invite them to your workspace with the access they need. Turnover tasks can be assigned to a team member or to an outside cleaner by email.
List your stay. Answer requests with the card already held.
Create your host account, add your stay and its rooms, and publish when the checklist is complete.
